United States Deaf Ski and Snowboard Association announces the launch of their redesigned website featuring new pages such as about, leadership team, history, teams, and news.
USDSSA is excited to share the news that Julie Hemstreet-Wojnar has been appointed as the Secretary for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association for the 2023-2024 administration.
The Deaf Winterfest event scheduled for the upcoming winter has been postponed to winter 2025 due to the scheduling conflict with the Deaflympics, and a survey will be released in the next few weeks to collect feedback and concerns from attendees for the upcoming event.
Snowboard training and tryouts will be held on May 6th and 7th, 2023 at Steamboat Springs Mountain Resort in Colorado for the 2024 Deaflympics event in Turkey. Four different events will be featured: Snowboard Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Cross (SBX), and Alpine. Registration is open until April 23rd, and the rate is $65.00 per day, including a lift ticket. Virtual tryouts are available for those unable to attend.
USDSSA has a new board but needs a Secretary position to fill in. Interested individuals should send a 2-3 minute video outlining qualifications and plans to board@usdssa.org. Deadline is Friday, April 14th.
