Avalanche Education Scholarships for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals

The USDSSA is committed to supporting individuals pursuing avalanche education through partial scholarships. To qualify, you must be deaf or hard of hearing as determined by an audiologist report.

Students will receive their scholarship after they submit documentation of course completion and verification of eligibility.

​

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are first come-first serve with limited funds available.

The USDSSA Avalanche Education Scholarship is for individuals with hearing loss who want to participate in avalanche courses including recreational level 1 & companion rescue.

 

Applications must be for an American Avalanche Association (A3) approved Level 1 class. A3 is the overarching association that certifies avalanche training programs in the US. This ensures quality, consistency, and current curriculum.

Applicants must have the equipment needed for the course as outlined on the AIARE or AAA required equipment list

Applications will be processed as they are received, providing they meet the application requirements.
