USDSSA - Open Board Positions

The United States Deaf Ski and Snowboard Association (USDSSA) Board of Directors and Team Leaders are diverse group of experienced professionals who are passionate about promoting and advancing the sport of skiing and snowboarding in the Deaf community. The Board and Team Leaders is made up of a dedicated team of individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, all of whom share a commitment to supporting Deaf athletes to represent the United States at the Winter Deaflympics.

Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the financial health of USDSSA and ensures transparency in financial reporting.
Responsibilities include:

  • Managing USDSSA bank accounts and financial records
  • Tracking income and expenses, including memberships, donations, and events

  • Preparing financial reports for board meetings

  • Assisting with budgeting for programs and events

  • Coordinating financial documentation for sponsorships and donations

Secretary

The Secretary plays a key role in maintaining communication and organizational records.
Responsibilities include:

  • Recording minutes for board meetings

  • Maintaining organizational documents and records

  • Assisting with membership records and board communications

  • Helping distribute important updates to members

Who Should Apply?

We encourage nominations from individuals who:

  • Support the mission of USDSSA

  • Are passionate about Deaf and hard of hearing sports

  • Have strong organizational or administrative skills

  • Are willing to volunteer time to support the community

Both self-nominations and nominations of others are welcome.

  • Name of nominee

  • Position of interest (Treasurer or Secretary)

  • Brief description of experience or interest in the role
